In 2009, Arts Afield will be launching their culinary arts program which will include workshops in Sonoma/Napa, San Francisco, Lucca, Italy and Singapore. The workshops will include great travel packages offering opportunities for the exploration of regional cuisine, culinary excursions, and cooking classes with talented and inspiring chefs.
Heading up the culinary arts programs at Arts Afield is CharLee Puckett. Chef Puckett is a 2nd Level Sommelier and a faculty member at Johnson & Wales University in Denver. He has taught at campuses in Miami and in Singapore and has been the recipient of several teaching awards including the Robert M. Nograd award for Excellence in Culinary Arts Instruction and the Vollrath Company L.L.C. Award. Chef Puckett has managed a Los Angeles resturant which was world acclaimed and ranked as one of the top ten in the world and ran the catering department of Universal Studios. He also opened and operated three well known restaurants for Vail Resorts in Beaver Creek which were awarded the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. He has his CSW (Certified Specialist of Wine) and is working toward his CWE (Certified Wine Educator) and an Advanced Certificate with WSET (Wine and Spirit Education Trust).
