Arts Afield is planning a number of film workshops for 2009. These workshops will provide an opportunity for immersion in films with discussions with well known film critics and other film professionals in small personal settings in some of the most exciting places in the world. Film workshops will feature selected film screenings from film centers and festivals in Europe, Mexico and the United States. Luxury, great talk, special guests and some of the world's best cinema entertainment will make for an unforgettable experience.

The Director of the Film Program for Arts Afield is Robert Denerstein, a film critic at the The Rocky Mountain News, a Denver Daily, for 27 years. Denerstein also has written for Variety and the Hollywood Reporter and is a member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association. He regularly serves as panel moderator at the Starz Denver Film Festival and has taught and lectured on film for many years. Film lovers have long looked forward to Denerstein's insightful movie reviews. He has been labelled by his peers, "the sharpest critic Denver has ever known" and as the most "talented writer at the Rocky Mountain News". Denerstein maintains a film blog site at denersteinunleashed.com and is currently working on a short film on urban education.
